United States Marine Corps Films

Moving Image Research Collections

Moving Image Research Collections (MIRC) has established a unique partnership with the History Division of the United States Marine Corps to house, digitize and make accessible an estimated 10,000 films from its archive in Quantico. Films will be added to this website as they are digitized. This page will also feature materials from other collections that enrich our understanding of Marine Corps History.

The United States Marine Corps Film Repository provides a visual record of the Marines during peacetime and during violent conflict. Because of this, some of the films contain images that graphically depict the consequences of war. Parents and teachers are encouraged to preview content when sharing with minors.

The United States Marine Corps Film Repository is an ambitious partnership that will protect Marine Corps history, honor the men and women who served their nation in the Corps, and make this rich history available for all. Click here to learn more about how you can help with this project.
